Whilst we await news from different communities and individuals, here is some news received from:
Kengeri- A neighborhood in Bengaluru:
Bookstall: Keeping in mind the bicentenary celebrations the friends in one of the neighborhoods of Bangalore decided to reach out to the widest possible cross-section of the society and share the message of Bahaullah. They set up a book stall in one of the prominent place for 6 days which attracted many visitors and the friends had the direct and meaningful conversation with all those who visited the stall.
196 seekers signed up and shared all their details including phone numbers, email id’s and addresses. These 196 friends have been divided into different lanes and friends have started inviting them to their devotionals. Today around 100 of them were invited for a common talk and around 50 of them came.
Around 10 families have pledged to be part of different core activities.
Andhra Pradesh & Telangana
As part of their endeavours in “connecting hearts to Bahá’u’lláh”, the Regional Baha’i Council of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana has initiated a series of articles – both in English and Telugu, for the use of the friends in the region and to provide them with tools for engaging in meaningful conversation with their friends, their acquaintances and those they come in contact with.

Mizoram & Manipur:
The Council has formed a Regional Task Force for bicentennial Celebration to coordinate with all the ten existing Assemblies in the region and key believers from the other clusters. Preparations are underway to ensure the celebrations are a grand success at all levels…cluster, local and the individual level (families level):
Some of the plans under consideration are:
Firesides and devotionals at home
Skit: Based on the principles of the Faith (by Junior Youths)
Art: Painting and drawing upon the Baha’i themes
Music and cultural dance (by children and Junior youths)
The Council is developing two booklets based on the “Story of Baha’ullah” and “the Baha’i Faith in Manipur” in our regional language.
Uttaranchal, Delhi & Uttarkhand:
As preparation for the twin birthdays they have also encouraged believers to read the book “Remember My Days” so that they can become familiar with the life of Bahá’u’lláh. About 700 people have read the book so far.
Sikkim & Darjeeling:
The Council has decided that a grand celebration be organized at two places in the region; Gangtok (Sikkim) and Darjeeling.
The Council decided to release a CD with Baha’i songs composed and sung by the youths of Sikkim and Darjeeling during this auspicious moment.
Efforts are on to get letters of good wishes from the Governor and other prominent persons.
In preparation for the Bicentennial, the LSA Gangtok has appointed a Youth Committee of 7 youth.
Jaipur: Jaipur Bahá’í Community has found a novel way of inviting their friends and acquaintances to their bigger event on the 21st of October, 2017, using Whatsapp. See clip:
As build-up towards the upcoming Bicentenary Celebration of the Birth Anniversary of Bahá’u’lláh, the Mumbai Baha’i Community organised a Tree plantation project at S.K. Patil Garden, Charni Road. on Saturday 1st July, 2017.
MLA Shri Raj Purohit and the local Corporator Ms.Rita Makwana graced the occasion and motivated the friends and school children who had gathered for the project. They spoke on how important nature and environment is.
Mr. Sandeep Gore representing the Baha’i Community of Maharashtra expressed his appreciation towards everyone who participated including the school children from G A Ranade School and the Prabhu Seminary School. He explained the importance of being one with nature and being united in building a healthy community life.
Save the Date: Mumbai community is pleased to announce that for the commemoration of the Bicentennial Birth Anniversary of Baha’u’llah, the Mumbai LSA has booked the Y B Chavan auditorium near Mantralaya, with a seating capacity of 600 for a Public Talk on the 22nd of October, 2017.
The Baha’i community of Mumbai is releasing a recording of Baha’i Prayers and thoughts with a CD tentatively titled “Blessings of Bahá’u’lláh”.
